Joan Palou Redorta, MD, PhD, FEBU, FRCS (Glasg) is a world-renowned expert in Uro-oncology in the areas of Bladder Cancer and Robotic Surgery. He is Professor of Urology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Chairman of the Urology Department at Fundació Puigvert in Barcelona. He is an active member of the Association of Academic European Urologists (AAEU) and of the American Association of Genito-Urinary Surgeons (AAGUS). He is actively involved in the IBCG (International Bladder Cancer Group). Most importantly, he has been involved in writing the EAU guidelines for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer and upper urinary tract tumors. Dr. Palou has published more than 450 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has given countless lectures in national and international meetings and as a visiting professor in university hospitals all over the world. The most known awards are the Hans Marberger prize in 2004 and 2021, the Platinum Award of European Urology Journal in 2018, the Shlomo Raz Award from the CAU in 2020, and the Frans Debruyne award in 2022.
